Þórsmörk & Waterfalls

You will start heading east along the south shore, after you have been picked up at your accommodation by your driver guide. Your first stop will be at the unique waterfall Seljalandsfoss, which drops 60 metres high, that where the coastline in long gone millenniums, in a river which has its orgins in the mighty and powerful volcano and glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Not only is the waterfall captivating but you can also walk behind it on a walking path and it is quite popular to take photos from behind the water, which make it unique, and you can see many photos in books and calanders.
Little further in the same cliffs, you can see few smaller waterfalls and one of them is Gljúfrabúi, sometimes called little brother, hidden in a narrow gorge which is accessible for you to go in by stepping on some stones in the river, and there you can take fantastic photos of the waterfall inside this gorge. Next you will stop at, after you have bin driving through many rivers with lots of splashing and fun, the mysterios canyon Stakkholtsgjá.
It is a beutiful natural wonder, the palagonite cliffs rice about 100 metres on both side, and here you could take 1,5 km tough hike inside the canyon and at the end of it, you see this beutiful waterfall and you will experince a remarkable peace, and all of a suddan you can´t avoid thinking of creatures and Trolls from other dimmensions, and that may be the reason that the HBO episodes Game of Thrones have bin filming in this canyon.
Thorsmörk is surrounded by three glaciers, Tindfjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and the faumos one, Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which erupted in 2010 and disrupted all the flights in Europe, and your next stop is at place called Gígjökull, one of two outlet gladiers from Eyjafjallajökul,and where all the melted ice, (water ) huge flod came out and destroyed everything on there way to the sea.
And now you will drive to the bottom at this Valley of Thor and you will have some lunch time, and here you could maybe see that, this valley has its own weather system, because of these three glaciers all around the valley
This area also have the most popular hiking trails in Iceland and two of the most famous, both of them ends here in this Valley of Thor.
