Book your own private tour in a 4×4 SUV vehicle to explore one of the spectacular diamond of Icelandic nature Thorsmörk, in all its power..

You will start heading east along the south shore, after you have been picked up at your accommodation by your driver guide. Your first stop will be at the unique waterfall Seljalandsfoss, which drops 60 metres high, that where the coastline in long gone millenniums, in a river which has its orgins in the mighty and powerful volcano and glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Not only is the waterfall captivating but you can also walk behind it on a walking path and it is quite popular to take photos from behind the water, which make it unique, and you can see many photos in books and calanders.

Little further in the same cliffs, you can see few smaller waterfalls and one of them is Gljúfrabúi, sometimes called little brother, hidden in a narrow gorge which is accessible for you to go in by stepping on some stones in the river, and there you can take fantastic photos of the waterfall inside this gorge. Next you will stop at, after you have bin driving through many rivers with lots of splashing and fun, the mysterios canyon Stakkholtsgjá.

It is a beutiful natural wonder, the palagonite cliffs rice about 100 metres on both side, and here you could take 1,5 km tough hike inside the canyon and at the end of it, you see this beutiful waterfall and you will experince a remarkable peace, and all of a suddan you can´t avoid thinking of creatures and Trolls from other dimmensions, and that may be the reason that the HBO episodes Game of Thrones have bin filming in this canyon.

Thorsmörk is surrounded by three glaciers, Tindfjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and the faumos one, Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which erupted in 2010 and disrupted all the flights in Europe, and your next stop is at place called Gígjökull, one of two outlet glaciers from Eyjafjallajökul,and where all the melted ice, (water ) huge flod came out and destroyed everything on there way to the sea.

And now you will drive to the bottom at this Valley of Thor and you will have some lunch time, and here you could maybe see that, this valley has its own weather system, because of these three glaciers all around the valley

This area also have the most popular hiking trails in Iceland and two of the most famous, both of them ends here in this Valley of Thor.

Snæfellsnesjökull National Park which is the smallest of the country´s three national parks. First of all is no doubt the Glacier itself with the volcano under the icecap, and the adventure in Jules Verne novel ´A Journey to the Centre of the Earth´begins here, and also called one of the energy centers of the earth.

And next is the amazing hot springs of Landmannalaugar oasis with all this color full landscape, and here we can take a bath in the natural hot spring, or join an short guided hike in this magnificent area. On our way back we will heading for mount Hekla, the most active volcano in Iceland, and sometimes called, the queen of Icelandic volcanoes. We will drive to a height of 900-1000 meters up the side of the volcano and cature the astounding view to all directions. A must tour in the summer.

Þingvellir the National Park is a favourite stop among travellers on the Golden Circle route. Þingvellir was named a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2004.

When the Viking settlers in around 900 it was the site they chose as the meeting place of Althingi, the world´s oldest parliament.

Þingvellir holds a special appeal for nature lovers, it is the visible site of the mid-Atlantic Ridge where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, which are going apart of 2-3 centimetres every year, and creating the Þingvellir Rift Valley and also creating Iceland geology´s youngest country.

And also in Þingvellir, we can find some of the places seen from Game of Thrones, which have this huge attraction for travellers to Iceland.

Next we will visit the iconic Geysir, geothermal area with the erupting hot springs, where Strokkur blows up every 6-10 minutes or so, and if peoble are taking a snowmobil tour we will drive up to glacier for the adventure, after Geysir and lunch stop.

After Geysir we move onwards to the rainbow-ridged waterfall Gullfoss one of Europe´s most powerful waterfalls.

The Reykjanes Peninsula runs along the Mid-Atlantic Rift where the Eurasian and the North-American tectonic plates are drifting aparrt, and a bridge between the two continents where you can walk from Amerika over to Europe by crossing that bridge. Due to this geological setting the whole peninsula is extremely volcanically active covered with lava fields, craters and volcanos, and geothermal hotsprings, and earthquakes are very common here.

In March 19th, 2021 it started a eruption in Mt. Fagradalsfjall inGeldingadalir after an increased seismic activity on the Reykjanes peninsula for over a year. The eruption paused after six months, and now we can walk up the eruption site and have a look over the latest part of iceland, new warm lava.

Krýsuvík we have Kleifarvatn, one of biggest lake in Iceland, and in 2001 we had big earthquakes in this area and the water level of this lake dropped down about 2,5 metres.

We have Gunnuhver one of the biggest hot spring in Iceland and very active geothermal area, named after Gunnu, an angry female ghost whose spirit was trapped in this hot spring, and Seltún, area of boiling mudpools and steam vents. The highlights of Reykjanes Peninsula is of course the World-Famous Spa Blue Lagoon, geothermal bathing spa, getting huge attraction in Iceland, but it is extra, Not Included.

This tour begins heading east, passing Hveragerði and Selfoss, small towns.

Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss, the waterfall where the brave can walk behind the cascade. And just beside is the so called secret waterfall, or on Icelandic ´Gljúfrabúi ´hidden in a small gorge that you can walk into.

Next up is Dyrhólaey 120 meter high Promontory seacliffs with massive birdlife and extraordinary view to all directions, Mýrdalsjökull glacier in north, the famous Eyjafjalljökull volcano which erupted in 2010 and spread the dramatis cloude of ash all over europe and disturped the flights over europe, the lava sea stacks Reynisdrangar in east and the long black sand beach in west.

Then we will head to the famous Reynisfjara, black sand beach with the basalt rock formations , sea stacks and caves, and in july and agust we can easily see all the Puffins in the cliffs.

Next to Reynisfjara is the village Vík, ideal for lunch stop.

On our way back we will visit the majestic waterfall Skógafoss, 60 meter high powerful and beutiful.

South Coast, Waterfalls & Black Sand Beaches

Amazing tour to head west and explore the famous man made ice cave in the second biggest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull. We will start our journey heading west and our first stop is at Deildartunguhver, Europs´most powerful hotspring.

Then we will drive through the medieval church center Reykholt, which was home to one of Iceland´s most famous historical figures, Snorri Sturluson.

Our next stop is at the beautiful lava cascades Hraunfossar waterfalls, which actually are streaming through rivulets in the lava field and into the glacier river Hvítá.

Before we are heading to the Glacier we will have a lunch stop in Husafell.

After lunch we will take you up to glacier and to the entrance of the Ice Cave in our super jeep.

After we had the chance to go deep inside the glacier and see the ice that's been forming over centuries, we will head back driving a mountain road, Kaldi dalur, cold valley , with glaciers and volcanos, and one of the smallest glacier in Iceland and also with the shortest name Ok, which is the first Icelandic glacier to officially lose its status as a glacier

At the end of this mountain road , we will visit the most treasured site, Þingvellir National Park, with the tectonic plates and the Icelandic old parliament from 930.

The mountain road Kaldidalur to the National Park Þingvellir, is only possible during summer, June – October.

Then during winter, we could stop again at the hotspring Deildartunguhver on our way back after the glacier and take a nice warm bath in a hotspring bathing spa Krauma
